The Junior club was established in 2001 by Meri Grigoryan and is run on Saturday mornings at the Town Hall in the Committee Room from 11:00 to 13:00. Tuition is given by Meri, a West London Chess Club member who is a woman FIDE master, England Women's National Team Member and ECF Accredited Coach. Boys and Girls welcome. Junior International player Young Fan Zhou just made it to round 3, Karl Howlett lost two games, so did Edward Offer, leaving it all up to U7 section to win the trophy! Once more I must address the younger players that chess doesn't know age difference but knowledge and you should not have a fear facing a teenager or an adult! Little ones proved it again! Well done all and congratulations to all qualifiers!

11-year-old Ben Murphy gave a handicap against his much younger and inexperienced opponents. He scored 4/5 and only lost (with no Queen!) against Dashiel Nason.

18 children in two age groups competed for medals and for the 31st WLJCC title. WLJCC member Kinan Patel was the only U11 boy who won all his games (children playing against Kinan received half a point) and thus was the overall winner. The age group winners were:
